FMTA Global is a global community of experts dedicated to the promotion, preservation, and development of Ayurveda. We are proud of our heritage and are committed to shaping the future of this extraordinary discipline.
We are delighted to introduce you today to the new incarnation of the Federation of Medicine and Therapy in Ayurveda, now known as FMTA Global.
The FMTA was born in 2020, amid the global COVID crisis, in Switzerland, a neutral and privileged territory home to many foundations and non-profit organizations in the humanitarian and health fields, headquarters of the WHO and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, among others.
The FMTA began its activity by dedicating itself to the Swiss national issues of Ayurveda, by creating the first network bringing together professionals, practitioners in medicine and therapy, professionals, and distributors of Ayurvedic products, as well as people interested in Ayurveda in general, or wishing to learn more.
Today, the FMTA is going global, with its world headquarters in Switzerland and a new world headquarters in India, the birthplace of Ayurveda, and building a global network of national representatives. This development marks an important milestone in our mission to promote and defend authentic and quality Ayurveda, this time on a global scale, while remaining true to our core values.
Our primary objective remains to bring together the professional actors of Ayurveda, in particular those committed to the preservation of an authentic and high-quality Ayurveda, both in terms of medical practice and the products accompanying it, as well as the transmission of knowledge and a professional and popular education of the highest level and accessibility.
We encourage collaboration between our members by organizing them into groups according to their profession or status, thus forming a dynamic network of exchange and collaboration. To strengthen their local presence, we organize our members into locals or regional chapters, while ensuring that they are represented at the national level, within our organization.
We are also committed to promoting interprofessional dialogue in an integrative approach, recognizing that Ayurveda can complement other healthcare systems. Our goal is to have Ayurveda recognized as a medical system in its own right, compatible with the specific requirements of each country.
Finally, we actively intervene in all important issues relating to professional policy, defending our goals and the interests of our professional members before the relevant bodies.
